Just a place to introduce yourself. I'm Elvis, I live in the UK and don't agree with anything I say or do here.

I'm Vilhelm Benkern, I live in the UK and I don't agree with anything Elvis does or says here. Nonetheless it looks like possibly good fun. In the spirit of capitalism and freedom (if you don't put in your buck-o-5, who will?) I won't be a citizen but an entrepeneur.

Thank you! Were you involved in the hated old, despotic Patrova, the USSP?

I was! Founded this last year when I was studying economics and paid tribute to it. Their forums still existed but I never managed to get that going. It never really had that edge that made it particularly attractive and original. Read that thread in Shireoth and it was so true that the best communist states are the ones which are more about theory and less about pictures. The Red Alert stuff is fun though.

The USSC was my communist state contribution. My attitude to it can be summed up as "Well I had fun..." I think most micronational projects really rely on a core group, usually from outside the hobby. So it was with some of the communist micronations who came together from the politicsforum.org (URL might not be right). However, there's a gap in the market for a micronation like South Patrova so maybe it will help to push an international micronational economic simulation. The current full extent of that is Commonwealth Global, a company that does nothing but has shares to be bought and sold: see this depressing thread, the shareholders meeting, to see what I mean.

I had the same with South Patrova. Will always keep the forum alive though because it was entertaining. What is with Ashkenatza these days?
Well that was confusing quickly. People in micronations love to pretend they are doing something real and so get really complex when really that just makes things more difficult. From what I've learned over the years these two things need to be learned:
"Clunkier the system -> less amount of time it will last and be used" "Don't do what works for a real country, do what works for your micronation"
The SCUE looks like it has promising aspects but just has so many bad ones. It's dominated by people who like to make things look difficult and people are trading in things nobody wants! Really if people want to waste their money on things then that is a market opening, but the best way to create an economy would be to give people money and get people thinking about buying and selling things. Andreas had good ideas with pictures and designs etc.
The logic here is that if we give money out and are sensible with distribution then hopefully people will buy things and sell things. Needs to be bottom up. Over time things like cars can be traded if there is a way to simulate that realistically without making it difficult to understand.
